If you’re riding a motorcycle, you can’t afford to skimp on safety or coverage. Unfortunately, motorcyclists get in deadly accidents every day partly because it’s so easy for cars and trucks to miss you. Medical payment is the main factor many motorcyclists have to consider. Personal injury protection for cars generally starts around $10,000. For a motorcycle, even a small accident could lead to hundreds of thousands in medical payment. It’s critical to have an insurance company you can trust. Even if you’re careful, you’re not always surrounded by safe drivers.

We reviewed factors that could go into customers’ overall satisfaction with their motorcycle insurance provider, including: discounts, technology, loyalty programs, resources for customer, added features, and more. See who are our 2016 top picks!

With Dairyland’s Physical Damage Plus coverage, you know that only original replacement parts will be used if your bike needs to be repaired. While it costs a bit more to include on your policy, this unique feature of Dairyland motorcycle insurance will give you higher quality replacement parts, which gives you greater piece of mind in return. Even a small accident can do a lot of property damage. If you plan to get back on the road, you want to make sure everything is in order.
  • Optional/Special Equipment:Do you have added bells and whistles on your bike to make it unique to you? With this coverage option, any modifications you have done are insured if damaged or stolen.

What kind of motorcycle insurance coverage do you need?

Standard motorcycle insurance policies include bodily injury liability coverage and property damage liability coverage, but it would be wise to invest in other types of motorcycle insurance as well. While liability insurance pays only for damages to another party for an accident you caused, collision coverage ensures that your own damages are paid as well. Comprehensive coverage will protect your motorcycle from theft and from damages incurred during inclement weather or a natural disaster. If you add uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage to your policy, you’ll be protected if you get into an accident with someone who doesn’t have insurance, or doesn’t have enough insurance to cover all of your damages. Personal injury protection is a great addition to a motorcycle insurance policy, as it covers the expensive medical bills you might incur if you’re in a bad accident. Your motorcycle insurance rates will increase if you add these coverage options, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing you’re protected.
